This Ital style “living” food porridge is delicious.  Made with fresh whole fruits and sesame tahini.  It definitely lively-ups my morning.

Recipe makes enough for 2.

Ingredients:

1 x ripe banana
1 x mango
1/2 avocado
1 x dessert spoon sesame tahini
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
500ml coconut water
1 tsp baobab powder
1 tsp chia seeds

To make:

Save some pumpkin and chia seeds.  Whizz everything else up in a blender until creamy smooth. Sprinkle on sunflower and chia seeds. Enjoy!

      Thank you for your comments and taking the time to take a look at the blog. To answer your question I live in the UK and getting a hold of chia seeds is fairly easy. I took a look at the net to understand where you can get these locally in Kingston but I’m sure like you drew a blank. I can suggest that you may be able to order from Amazon. However, my thinking is that Jamaica is so abundant with wonderful seeds and herbs of all kinds that you will be able to find an alternative that is as rich or even moreso nutritionally. I really believe in eating and harvesting local whenever possible first so take a look at the benefits of chia seeds and then substitute. I do this all the time. Would love to hear about what you find, maybe you’ll inspire us to another great recipe.
